Our expertise with weddings dates back to 1985 (when Isadora sang for her first wedding ceremony whilst living in Zimbabwe at the age of 12). She was a very popular wedding singer and also played the church organ. When she relocated to the UK between 1994 and 2003 she continued this and even travelled to the Netherlands and Egypt. When she moved to the Cayman Islands in 2003, the tradition only continued and she has since travelled back to Zimbabwe and even Ireland, Antigua and Little Cayman to provide wedding entertainment. To date she has sung for over 300 weddings (both ceremony and reception).
It should therefore be no surprise that both Bona Fide and Exile have a reputation that precedes them for being one of the best weddings bands with a incomparable repertoire and innate ability to ensure that bride, groom, family and friends are kept satisfied and entertained in just the right proportions.
Isadora is the key contact for weddings and has ample expertise to assist and liaise with the most unsure to the most pedantic bride/wedding planner. Rest assured your wedding day entertainment will unfold exactly the way YOU desire. After all it’s all about you …
“We decided to use Bona Fide as our wedding band after listening to the samples of her songs. She (Isadora) suggested songs that best suit our needs & the crowd in the planning process. What was impressive to us was that she was able to learn the song for our 1st dance & she sang it beautifully! It was a Joss Stone’s song & it isn’t easy to sing. We highly recommend her & the band for any occasions! Once again, thank you for giving us & our guests such an entertaining night!” ~ Kristin and Howie – Grand Old House – 13 March 2010 (pictured above)
“Isadora and the Bona Fide band went above and beyond to ensure that our wedding reception was a success from the very beginning. From meeting with my husband and I prior to the wedding to discuss various details to responding to all of my emails, questions, and requests (no matter what time of night!), Isadora made me feel at ease (which is hard to do when you are a bride!). She genuinely cared about making our event special. She even volunteered to learn a few songs specifically for our reception to make it more personal! Isadora served as MC for the reception and handled the introduction of the bridal party, cake cutting, and garter/flower toss while the band played live music during the dinner, speeches, and party. From the moment the reception began to the last song of the night, Bona Fide knew just what songs to play to keep everyone on the dance floor all night. All of our guests raved about how much fun they had at our wedding. Hiring Bona Fide was one of the best decisions that we made in regards to our wedding! The band exceeded our expectations and I would highly recommend Bona Fide to anyone looking for a band for their event. I cannot thank Isadora enough for adding to the wonderful memories that we have of our wedding day J” ~ William & Latoya – Grand Old House – 1 March 2011
“Bona Fide performed at my destination wedding last February in Grand Cayman. After having one wedding band cancel on us at the last minute, my husband and I were slightly nervous at the thought of hiring a new band without hearing them perform. We took a leap of faith and could not have been more pleased with the outcome. Isadora and her band were wonderful, they were lively and fun, and kept our guests dancing all night. The most special part was when they performed our favorite song by The Archies as I walked down the aisle, which set the tone for a wonderful evening. I highly recommend hiring Bona Fide at your next event, I can assure you that they will make your guests feel entertained, welcomed and very much at home, even when they are far away from home. Thanks for making our wedding extra-special.” ~Shilah and Jeff – Westin Casuarina – 11 February 2012
“We were married at sunset with the most perfect setting we could imagine, the only thing that made the day more extraordinary was the sweet sounds of Bona Fide. Isadora performed a beautiful original song that she suggested for our ceremony, as she had recently composed the melody. It was wonderful and just right for our special day! After dinner we enjoyed a great variety of music with plenty of Caribbean flair – the band had all of our small group dancing – Bona Fide was perfect. We would highly recommend Isadora and her band to make your wedding day even more memorable!” ~ Cami and Chad – Kaibo – 16 May 2012
“Thanks to Isadora and Bona Fide for helping to make the wedding of my dreams! Isadora was a delight to work with. She personally responded immediately to all my inquiries and continued to keep the communication open. She was very helpful and recommended what type of music/band I needed for my dinner reception which was the soft jazz duo. It was all-around perfect! They also add a Caribbean flare to their music that I loved. It was like a gift from the Caymans! All my guests were very impressed and complimentary of them as well. I also appreciated the sweet spiritual email from Isadora afterwards wishing my husband and I a lifetime of happiness. It was very thoughtful and personal. Thank you again for everything and God Bless!” ~ Laura and Beau – Grand Old House – 15 February 2014
“Would highly recommend Bona Fide for wedding entertainment, they were fantastic at wedding!!! We had a very small intimate wedding, so we decided to just have Isadora singing with Glen playing an acoustic guitar for when I walked up the aisle to my husband to be. It was perfect in every way. I’d asked for `Marry Me’ by Train to be sung and they performed it beautifully. Whenever I hear that song now, I think of our special day. Then later in the day Isadora and Glen were able to play some more upbeat music (now with Keyboard and speakers) offering us a great selection of love songs and Caribbean music – it got everyone up dancing which was great!! They even took some requests too, truly brilliant and a perfect accompany to our wedding day. If you could like entertainment for your special day, I’d 100% recommend them!” ~ Zoe and Eric – Little Cayman – 9 April 2014
